Career Vault

The Career Vault is the single home for everything your job search is built on:
the documents you upload, the resume versions you create, the career evidence
extracted from them, and the stories and answers you reuse across applications.

What you'll find here

The vault opens as a dashboard of cards, and each card opens a dedicated workspace:

Source Documents — the original files you upload, such as resumes
Resume Versions — your resume version history
Career Evidence — facts extracted from your documents, with a count of how many are confirmed
Verification Queue — evidence waiting for your review; an amber badge shows how many items need attention
Story Bank — reusable STAR stories
Answer Studio — evidence-grounded interview answers
Preparation Tasks — your interview prep tracker
Career Profile — your candidate profile
Migration — the status of moving your existing data into the vault. Once complete it shows "Done"; while backfill is pending it shows an "Action" badge

Export your data

The Export Data button downloads a complete copy of your vault as a JSON
file (named like career-data-export-2026-08-15.json), so you always have a
portable backup of everything the vault holds.

Getting started

An empty vault shows the message "No documents or evidence yet."
The fastest way to start: upload your resume. The vault extracts structured
career evidence from it, builds resume versions, and unlocks the Story Bank
and Answer Studio.

Resume upload now lives in Resume OS — the vault's own upload entry point
is hidden while the legacy kit builder stays retired. Your master resume is
created and imported in Resume OS, and everything already in your vault stays
fully usable: evidence review, Story Bank, Answer Studio, and exports all keep
working.

Career Evidence

The evidence workspace lists every extracted record with its category —
employment, skill, education, certification, achievement, project, contact,
or summary — and its status: Needs review, AI-Inferred, Confirmed, Rejected,
Conflicted, or Archived.

Filter by category, status, or employer, and sort by Recent or Timeline.
Smart Confirm confirms all records that don't need individual attention in one step. Records with metrics or sensitive content are skipped so you can review them yourself.
Each record can be confirmed or rejected, and confirmed records can be edited, archived, or merged when the vault flags conflicting entries. Archived or rejected records can be restored.
Add Evidence opens a form for adding a record manually — pick a category, describe the value, add employer and dates, an optional metric, and a confidentiality level (Normal, Sensitive, or Restricted).
Records extracted with low confidence, or flagged as AI-Inferred, are the ones the Verification Queue wants you to check.
Click the view icon on any record to open its detail page with the full record information.

The evidence lifecycle

Evidence starts as Needs review when it's extracted from your documents,
or AI-Inferred when the vault inferred it. From there you confirm it or
reject it:

Records that carry metrics or sensitive content require individual review — use Review & Confirm for those.
If two records conflict, the vault marks them Conflicted; you can merge them by picking the record to keep, and the merged record replaces the conflicting pair.
Editing a confirmed record returns it to review status so you can re-check the change.

Verification Queue

The verify workspace groups evidence that needs you into three lists: records
requiring review, records in conflict, and recently confirmed records.
Confirm or reject each item, and merge conflicting records into a single
correct one. An audit trail of review actions is kept for each record.

Story Bank and Answer Studio

Story Bank stores reusable STAR stories you can draw on across applications.
Answer Studio holds evidence-grounded answers. Click Generate Answer
to open the generator dialog, type the Interview Question (required —
for example "Tell me about a time you led a cross-functional project…"),
pick the Evidence and Stories tabs to link the items you want the
answer grounded in, and generate. Answers follow the STAR framework and
pull from your Career Vault evidence. You can also generate on demand from
any question in your prep materials — the same dialog, same evidence
grounding.

How the vault feeds the rest of the app

Confirmed evidence is what powers your career truth and the assessments that
compare you against roles — see Career Truth and
Career Learning. The Story Bank and Answer
Studio feed directly into your preparation, so keeping the vault reviewed and
current improves everything downstream.
