Dream Job Navigator

ES Reference: Phase 2 (INTOS-ES-P2-001) — Dream Job Navigator, Section 9

Overview

The Dream Job Navigator helps you define, target, and progress toward your ideal career destination. It compares your current evidence and trajectory against target role requirements, classifies your readiness level, explains gaps and strengths, and creates a milestone-based roadmap — all transparent about assumptions and confidence.

The Navigator never promises a job or offer probability. Every assessment is grounded in your actual evidence with disclosed assumptions.

Key Principles

  • Transparent classification — every label is explained with strengths, gaps, and evidence
  • Assumptions disclosed — confidence levels and assumptions are always visible
  • No promises — never states "you will get this job" or shows fake offer probability
  • Adjacent role guidance — shows related roles you may also be competitive for
  • Milestones are actionable — linked to concrete tasks and evidence-building activities

Dream Job Classification

Each target role is classified into one of five readiness levels:

Classification Definition Recommended Focus
Ready Now Evidence, skills, and experience align strongly with requirements Maintain readiness; practise delivery; apply confidently
Competitive with Preparation Most requirements met; targeted preparation can close remaining gaps Focus on specific gaps; build stories for weak areas; practise
Stretch Opportunity Some core requirements met but significant gaps exist Prioritize gap closure; build evidence; consider timeline extension
Career Transition Required Major evidence and skill building needed for this role Structured learning plan; build evidence in current role; target intermediate roles
Longer-Term Target Aspirational goal requiring substantial career development Set intermediate milestones; build toward this over 2-5 years
