Executive Mode — Senior Leadership Interview Preparation

ES Reference: Phase 2 (INTOS-ES-P2-001) — Executive Interview Mode, Section 11

Overview

Executive Mode provides grounded, leadership-focused interview preparation for senior professionals pursuing VP, C-suite, and board-level roles. It reframes standard interview preparation around the dimensions that matter at executive level: P&L ownership, transformation leadership, board communication, strategic narrative, and 100-day planning.

Executive Mode is not a separate application — it is a preparation lens applied across Role Intelligence, Kit 2.0, Answer Studio, and Practice, tuned for executive scope, scale, and audience.

Key Principles

  • Grounded in actual scale and outcomes — no invented revenue figures or team sizes
  • Leadership narrative, not just STAR — strategic framing appropriate for board/VP audiences
  • Every assertion backed by evidence — P&L claims, transformation results, people impact are all evidence-linked
  • No fabricated compensation advice — boundaries and narrative, not "what you should ask for"

Executive Mode Modules

1. Executive Introduction Builder

Craft 30-second, 90-second, and 120-second leadership narratives grounded in your actual scale, outcomes, and mandate.

What It Covers:

Duration Purpose Content Focus
30 seconds Elevator pitch Who you are, scale of role, signature outcome
90 seconds Interview opener Leadership scope, key transformation, why this role
120 seconds Board/panel intro Full narrative: trajectory, impact, philosophy, ambition

2. P&L & Commercial Preparation

Prepare to discuss revenue, margin, portfolio, growth, pricing, and trade-off decisions with evidence-backed specifics.

What It Covers:

  • Revenue scale and growth rates you've managed
  • P&L ownership scope (direct, influenced, matrixed)
  • Portfolio/product decisions and their commercial impact
  • Pricing, packaging, and go-to-market experience
  • Trade-off narratives: investment vs. return, short-term vs. long-term
  • Budget ownership and resource allocation decisions

3. Transformation & Change Leadership

Prepare structured narratives around operating model change, organizational transformation, risk management, and governance.

What It Covers:

  • Operating model redesigns you've led

  • Risk identification, mitigation, and governance frameworks
  • Measurable results: before/after metrics

  • Strategy articulation: vision, execution, metrics
  • Governance and fiduciary understanding

6. First 100 Days Plan

A hypothesis-driven 100-day plan tied to the target role's mandate, with explicit assumptions.

What It Covers:

  • Days 1-30: Listening, assessment, relationship building
  • Days 31-60: Hypothesis validation, early wins identification
  • Days 61-90: Strategy formation, team alignment, initial execution
  • Days 91-100: Plan refinement, board presentation, commitment setting
  • Assumptions and dependencies explicitly stated
  • Linked to RoleModel business outcomes

7. Compensation Preparation

Boundaries, narrative, and decision framework — not specific negotiation advice.

What It Covers:

  • Compensation philosophy and priorities (cash, equity, benefits, flexibility)
  • Market context (role, stage, geography)
  • Value narrative: linking your impact to compensation expectations
  • Decision boundaries: walk-away points, must-haves, nice-to-haves
  • Questions to ask about equity, vesting, clawbacks, change-of-control

Explicitly Excluded: "Ask for X" recommendations; detailed offer comparison (that's the Offers module, Phase 4)

UX Rules

  • Executive Mode is a lens, not a separate silo — it reuses your evidence, kits, and practice data
  • Financial/scope claims must be evidence-backed or labeled "user-stated, unverified"
  • All P&L, revenue, and team-size numbers are per-user-input; system never fabricates
  • Compensation preparation is framing/narrative only, never specific "ask for X" guidance
  • Board/panel content is concise by default — executive time is limited
  • First 100-day plan assumptions are explicit and editable
