Readiness — Interview Preparedness Index & Graph

ES Reference: Phase 2 (INTOS-ES-P2-001) — Readiness Index and Graph, Section 7

Overview

The Readiness Index measures your preparation completeness and evidence quality for a specific job at a point in time. It is not an offer probability or a prediction of interview success — it is a transparent, versioned assessment of how well-prepared you are across six weighted components, with concrete actions to improve each one.

The companion Competency Graph shows role-required competencies mapped against your evidence strength, answer readiness, and practice performance — giving you a visual heat map of where to focus.

Key Principles

  • Readiness is preparation completeness, not success probability — never conflate the two
  • Every component shows its contribution, inputs, and actions that can change it
  • Missing data is disclosed, not fabricated — "not assessed" is an honest state
  • Historical snapshots track trends — see your readiness evolve over time
  • Scoring is versioned and deterministic — AI may classify inputs but does not hide arithmetic
  • Renormalize when components have no data — disclose provisional status

Readiness Index Components

Component Weight Inputs What It Measures
Role Alignment 25% Requirement states, importance weights, knockout risks How well your evidence covers the role's requirements
Career Evidence Strength 20% Verification status, ownership clarity, scope, metrics, conflicts Quality and trustworthiness of your evidence foundation
Answer Readiness 15% High-priority questions with approved STAR answers Whether you have prepared answers for likely questions
Practice Performance 20% Phase 2: available practice status; Phase 3: scored sessions Demonstrated interview capability through mock sessions
Company/Round Preparation 10% Brief completion, round plan readiness, questions to ask How well you understand the company and interview structure
Preparation Completion 10% Priority task completion rate, due date adherence Whether you've completed the assigned preparation work

Missing Data Handling

When a component has no data (e.g., no practice sessions yet):

  • Component is marked "Not Assessed"
  • Weights are renormalized across available components
  • A provisional status badge is displayed
  • The user sees exactly which data would improve the score

Competency Graph

A separate visualization maps each role-required competency across four axes:

Axis What It Shows Data Source
Role Importance How critical this competency is for the target role RoleModel competency expectations
Evidence Strength Quality and depth of verified evidence per competency Career Vault evidence coverage
Answer Readiness Whether prepared answers exist for this competency Answer Studio approved answers
Practice Readiness Demonstrated performance in practice sessions Phase 2: status; Phase 3: scores

Role-competency heat map showing strengths and gaps across all role competencies.

Buttons & Actions:

Button Behavior
Filter by Importance Show only critical/high/medium importance competencies
Sort by Gap Order competencies by biggest readiness gap
Drill into Competency See detailed evidence, answers, and practice for one competency
Export Download competency graph data

Readiness Snapshot Metadata

Each snapshot stores:

  • scoringVersion — which formula version was used
  • jobId / kitId — which context was assessed
  • inputs — RoleModel version, evidence snapshot, answer readiness, practice status
  • components — per-component scores, confidences, and factor breakdowns
  • calculatedAt — timestamp
  • provisional — true if any component was renormalized due to missing data

UX Rules

  • Never show a readiness percentage without component breakdown and data freshness
  • Use text labels and icons alongside any color coding
  • "Not assessed" is honest and actionable — it tells users what data to add
  • Provisional status must be visible whenever components are renormalized
  • Trends require at least 2 snapshots; disclose sample size
  • Every component shows which actions will improve it
