Resume OS

Resume OS is your master resume — the single source of truth for your CV — and the machine that builds targeted resumes for each job. The master resume is never changed: every job-specific version is a separate, explicit creation.

The master resume

Resume OS keeps one master resume per account ("Version {n}" with a Master badge and its lifecycle status).

Import

  • Import your resume — paste resume text, or Upload PDF / DOCX / TXT ("File selected: {fileName}").
  • Click Import resume. If this exact resume was already imported, the page says so honestly — the prior parse was reused.
  • Review your imported resume — "{n} unresolved item(s) parsed from your resume — review before confirming." Walk through them, then Confirm — this is my master resume.

Keep it current

  • If your career evidence changes after import, a Career evidence changed card appears with an Apply button to refresh the parsed sections.
  • The Section navigator lets you reorder, archive, restore, add, and edit items (each item has Edit/Save). Empty: "No items yet."
  • Version history — every save creates a new version with its Master/lifecycle/extraction badges.

Building a targeted resume

In the Build a targeted resume card, pick a saved job ("{role title} — {company name}") and click Create targeted resume. The master resume is never changed. If the job already has a target, it's reopened — "This job's target already exists — reopened it."

The targeting workspace

The targeting page is titled "{role title} at {company name}" with tabs Suggestions, Resume, Alignment, and Export.

Suggestions

The rail lists grounded rewrite suggestions for this job, each with a kind (Improve impact, Shorten, Clarify ownership, Match requirement, Add measurable outcome, Fix grammar), a confidence badge, and a status (Pending / Accepted / Edited / Rejected). Each suggestion shows Before / Suggested / Why panels, the requirement it serves, and its evidence source. You can Accept, Edit, Reject, or Add my answer (then Save answer / Cancel / Undo). Accept all safe ({n}) applies the safe batch at once.

Resume

The center panel shows your original uploaded file exactly as uploaded — same format, fonts, and colors ("Your original CV — {fileName} — shown exactly as uploaded"), with an Open original action.

Alignment

Role alignment shows a Summary band (Strong / Competitive) and nine explainable dimensions — "There is no overall score and no ATS probability." The dimensions: Mandatory requirement coverage, Preferred requirement coverage, Relevant experience evidence, Seniority / scope alignment, Achievement strength, Terminology alignment, Readability & structure, Knockout risks, Unsupported claims — each scored /100 with a good / attention / gap marker. Readability runs format checks over this resume only, independent of the job.

Export

Exact file (byte-for-byte) or a styled re-render — links expire in 1 hour:

  • Your CV (exact file) — the uploaded file, byte-for-byte, PDF only.
  • Styled templates — three curated templates (DOCX auto-switches to the classic template).

Pick PDF or DOCX, see a page-1 preview, and Export PDF / Export DOCX. The result is a signed download — expires in 1 hour with the file size shown.
