Role Match — Transparent Job Fit Analysis

ES Reference: Phase 0 (INTOS-ES-P0-001) Role Match v1, Section 8 · Phase 2 (INTOS-ES-P2-001) Role Match v2, Section 5

Overview

Role Match provides transparent, dimension-by-dimension analysis of how your career evidence aligns with a target job's requirements. Role Match v2 (Phase 2) maps each individual RoleModel requirement to your structured Career Evidence, producing an explainable state per requirement and a concrete action plan for gaps.

Role Match is not an ATS-pass probability, hiring prediction, or offer guarantee. Every finding is linked to specific evidence (or the lack of it) with confidence and freshness indicators.

Key Principles

  • No universal ATS score — historical values retained for audit only; primary UX is requirement-level
  • Every requirement gets a state — not a vague percentage, but a concrete classification with evidence links
  • Every gap has a resolution path — add evidence, update resume, confirm facts, create story, or learn
  • Evidence-grounded — without evidence foundation, results are labeled "document-based and provisional"
  • Scores only with underlying findings, confidence, and freshness — no naked numbers
  • No predictions — no offer probability, no guaranteed ATS passage claims

Role Match v2 Requirements States

Each requirement from the RoleModel is classified into one of these states:

State Definition Recommended Action
STRONG_EVIDENCE Direct verified evidence at required scope and depth Prepare and practise delivering the answer
PARTIAL_EVIDENCE Relevant but incomplete depth, scale, or metrics Strengthen evidence with specific metrics or outcomes
TRANSFERABLE Adjacent experience that can transfer credibly Create transition narrative linking to target context
CLAIMED_UNVERIFIED Claim exists but lacks verified evidence backing Confirm the claim with evidence or remove it
MISSING_LEARNABLE Gap that can reduce through focused preparation Create a learning task with target date
MISSING_MATERIAL Mandatory gap unlikely to close in relevant timeframe Flag as suitability risk; consider role fit
REQUIRES_CLARIFICATION Insufficient or conflicting requirement data Ask a targeted clarification question

Match Dimensions (v1 → v2)

Dimension What It Measures v2 Treatment
Mandatory Coverage Critical requirements with evidence state and knockout risks Per-requirement state with risk flags
Preferred Coverage Preferred requirements with evidence state Per-requirement state with importance weighting
Experience Evidence Relevant role/project/achievement support Mapped to specific RoleModel requirements
Seniority Alignment Scope, ownership, leadership, business impact Explainable band with evidence links
Competency Coverage Expected depth vs. demonstrated depth per competency Gap analysis with development actions
Knockout Risks Missing mandatory or critical requirements Explicit risk list with severity
Evidence Freshness Recency and source confidence of linked evidence Stale/current indicators per requirement

Assessment Metadata

Each Role Match v2 assessment persists:

  • Assessment version and scoring version
  • RoleModel version used
  • Resume version used
  • Evidence snapshot ID
  • Timestamp and calculated-at date
  • Model/prompt versions for classification
  • Per-requirement state, confidence, and linked evidence IDs

UX Rules

  • Never show a numeric score without nearby explanation, component breakdown, and limitations
  • Scores show only with underlying findings, confidence, and freshness — never naked
  • Use text and icons, not color alone, for confidence and requirement states
  • Every finding must be traceable to either evidence or the document
  • Show provisional/no-data states instead of fabricated values
  • Every gap has an actionable resolution path (no dead-end gaps)

Recalculation Triggers

Role Match recalculates asynchronously after:

  • Evidence is added, updated, or confirmed
  • Resume version changes
  • JD version changes (triggers new RoleModel)
  • User explicitly requests re-analysis
  • Story or answer is created/approved linked to a requirement
